On Wednesday, April 27, 2016 Dr. Hurme of Amityville Wellness did a speech on alternative vs. western medicine for Simpson's United Methodist Church Men's Group.
What a great turn out it was! Our friends of the Methodist Church learned a lot about acupuncture and even got treated!

Take a deep breath in, hold 1, 2, 3, let it out....
Don't let stress beat you down. Instead find ways to BEAT STRESS!
Everyone can get stressed from time to time. Stress can really weigh us down and make us feel immobile. We commonly associate stress with anxiety, they sort of "fuel" each other. BUT you CAN overcome stress and you CAN overcome anxiety. *Let's also remind you that stress and anxiety are one of the top reasons people decide to try acupuncture treatments and YES they help tremendously.
Below are 5 natural ways to help beat stress and anxiety:
Step away from the problem...
Stop thinking about it! Distract yourself for a moment and LIVE IN THE MOMENT. Take a walk outside, drive to the store, read a book, clean a room in the house.
Calming herbs include Passionflower, Oats, Chamomile, and Damiana.
Stress releasing herbs include Withania, Siberian Ginseng, and Rhodiola.
Throw away that coffee you've been slurping down...
Caffeine is NOT helping. Caffeine keeps us more high strung and has been shown to increase stress and anxiety. So either lower your doses or cut it out completely. Once your body weens off of the caffeine addiction, you won't crave or need it anymore.
Take deep breaths...
The same way you did at the beginning of this post, take a deep breath in, hold 1, 2, 3, let it out... Fill your lungs completely. Do this as often as you'd like. You can do this 4 times in a row but don't get yourself light headed or dizzy! Just get that oxygen flowing fully throughout your body.
Talk to someone...
It always feels better to share with someone your hardships, to discover their opinion on the matter, and to LET IT OUT. Keeping stress inside only makes it pick at us until we can't take it ANY. LONGER.! And from their it just gets much, much worse. So let it out and always let an offering hand help!
